Loving Your Family, Feeding Their Future workshop series

Your first thought when you wake up and your last one before you fall asleep is your family.  Their health and future mean everything to you.  Please join us for a series of workshops designed to provide you with practical information and skills to assist you in "loving your family" and "feeding their future".

A Matter of Balance workshop

A workshop designed to help reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falling.

Facilitators: Megan Webb (nutrition and health education specialist) and Art Schneider (human development specialist)
Where: Carroll County Senior Center (200 Lifecare Lane, Carrollton,MO 64633)
When: Each Tuesday and Thursday from June 5 - July 5, 2012 (Class will not meet June 19 and 21)
Time: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Fee: $25 (make check payable to MU Extension)

Financial Game Plan workshop

Go from financial bench warmer to star. Learn winning family financial strategies with "Coach Crawford." You have a VIP invitation to attend. The class is open to all adults and we frequently have people driving in from one or two counties away to attend.  Minimum of 5 people, maximum of 25 per class.

Where: Carrollton Public Library, 1 N. Folger (NW corner of the square)

     Wednesday, November 7, 5:30-8 p.m.
Fee: Thanks to the Carroll County Extension Council there is no charge for this workshop: however, registration is needed at least two days prior to class.

Food Preservation workshop

In conjunction with the Carrollton Public Library, we will be presenting food preservation classes designed to assist you in developing strong food safety  methods while achieving optimum quality in preservation.  Two workshops will be offered covering topics such as: freezing fruits and vegetables, water bath canning, food dehydration and pressure canning vegetables.

Facilitator: Megan Webb, health and nutrition specialist
Where: Carrollton Public Library
Dates: June 12 & June 26 (these are two different workshops - participants may register for one or both.
Time: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Fee: Thanks to the Carroll County Extension Council, there is no cost to attend this workshop; however if you would like to assist with this and/or other programming in Carroll County, donations are appreciated.
