The 2012 Mid-Missouri Grazing Conference will be back at the Capitol Plaza Hotel, in Jefferson City, Missouri
Highlights
This year, the program will include a trade show, concurrent sessions and nationally recognized speakers.
Keynote speakers
Dr. Martin Kautsch, DVM will present on Preparing Beef Cattle for the Breeding Season.
Dr. Kautch is a veterinarian with Quail Valley Vet Clinic in Jefferson City. He graduated from the MU Vet School in 1993.
Ken Miller will present on Soil Health.
Miller is the District Grazing Specialist/Technician with the Burleigh County Soil Conservation District in Bismarck, North Dakota.
In 2009, Miller was awarded the “Outstanding Service Award” by the North Dakota Soil & Water Conservation Society for excellence in promoting cropping and grazing systems focused on improving soil health. Ken and Bonnie Miller have utilized an intensive rotational grazing system for more than 20 years on their 2,000-acre ranch in Morton County. They have employed no-till for nine years and have been growing cover crops for four. Through his work for the Burleigh County Soil Conservation District, Miller has become a noted authority on grazing systems, no-till, and cover crops and regularly gives seminars and workshops throughout the USA and Canada.
