Keeping Your Cool During Crisis
Your parent suddenly dies. It happens just when your spouse loses a job and youíre having problems with your children, plus you just got a low performance evaluation at work! When these pressures happen, you become a prime candidate for "Stress Overload." Such experiences are surprisingly common. Everyone, at some point in life, may find himself/herself in a situation that could result in symptoms of mental dysfunction. Just remember that weíre all at risk to some extent. Weíre all trying to keep our heads above water.
Here are some guidelines to help you take charge when you feel like you are "going crazy."
Practice being average and thatís okay! You donít have to be exceptional or know everything. Have the courage to make mistakes. The trick is not to let temporary failure indict your whole personality. Give your self-credit for the effort.
